Elexis joins the Summer Search Bay Area team after spending nearly a decade in San Diego. A former foster youth who experienced homelessness and grew up throughout the East Bay, Elexis understands firsthand how investing in young people can help shape their futures.

With the support of scholarships and student retention programs, she earned her bachelor's degree in Political Science–Public Policy, with a minor in Human Rights and Migration, from UC San Diego.

Inspired by the programs that supported her own journey, Elexis began working in health sciences advancement at her alma mater, where she discovered the power of philanthropy to create opportunities for others. Combining her passion for student empowerment, experience in development, and desire to return home, joining Summer Search felt like a natural next step.

Outside of work, Elexis enjoys watching nearly lost media and collecting DVDs and vinyl records. She's excited to be back in the East Bay and give back to the community that helped shape her!
