Outdoor experiential education has always been a lifelong passion for Jeff. Whether backpacking in the Smoky Mountains, completing an Outward Bound course in the North Cascades, or kayaking the Inside Passage, he is happiest when in the wilderness. Jeff is a firm believer in the transformative power of nature and he channeled this passion early in his career by helping a school district in Houston develop a therapeutic ROPES course to support youth navigating mental health and behavioral challenges.

With a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Rochester and a specialized credential in School Psychology, Jeff has spent decades in the Puget Sound region supporting high school students with special needs and designing impactful post-secondary Transition Plans. Beyond his educational career, he has also consulted in the private sector to build a Supported Employment Program for a local hospitality company. Jeff is thrilled to bring his combined love for the outdoors and youth development to the Summer Search team. When he isn't working, you can find him exploring the PNW wilderness or planning his next coastal paddle.
