Community: Seattle Staff
Position: High School Mentor
Joe was born and raised in Northeast Ohio but has called Seattle home since 2018. As a proud first-generation college graduate, he earned a double major in psychology and communication science and disorders from Saint Louis University. Over the ensuing decade and a half, Joe dedicated himself to high schools serving under-resourced communities holding roles such as full-time teacher, mentor, and college counselor. Joe also earned his Master of Education degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education focusing on culturally sustaining education and innovative pedagogies that elevate student voice, agency, and lived experience.
Joe is thrilled to contribute to Summer Search’s mission of igniting student potential through powerful experiences. He is excited to join a team dedicated to providing students access to spaces and opportunities to connect, collaborate, and grow their leadership skills to make a positive impact on their communities and pursue their definition of success.
Outside of work, you can find Joe spending time with his partner and their pets, connecting with friends, being active inside or out, or with his nose in a book.
