Welcome to another edition of #Snapshot, where we bring you a glimpse of what’s going on at Summer Search.
This summer, beyond outdoor adventures, we also provided our students with virtual programs, academic courses, and paid internship opportunities.
One engaging program was NS2 Inspires: a two-week virtual computer science camp, developed in partnership with SAP NS2, to educate, inspire and empower our students in programming and STEM focused careers.
Watch this video to learn more about Summer Search’s partnership with the NS2 Gives Corporate Social Responsibility program, featuring William Woodson, Philadelphia Student, and Sylvia Watts McKinney, our Philly Executive Director.
William, who attends Boys’ Latin of Philadelphia Charter School, had a busy summer. After crushing it at coding, computer architecture, and game development with NS2 Inspires, he ventured on a 10-day wilderness trip in the Delaware Water Gap with Philadelphia Outward Bound!
“I am proud of myself for completing my formidable summer experience,” William reflected. “It was difficult at first, but it was just as fun.”
Looking ahead to his senior year, William will be partnering with his mentor Sydney to prepare for college after high school graduation. He hopes to attain a Master’s in computer science after college.
Thank you to SAP NS2 for your commitment to inspiring the next generation of engineers by providing educational opportunity, technical mentorship, and hands-on learning experiences that build technical skills and help open doors to STEM careers. We look forward to continuing our partnership!
To William (and all of our Summer Searchers), we are proud to know you! We know you have the will, brilliance and determination to accomplish his goals!
