Before Summer Search, Jeorgia served young people in many ways. She first became a peer mentor at Stonehill College, where she mentored first-year college students. She then interned at Chica Project, where she supported young girls of color by building their leadership skills. Her drive for youth mentorship led her to work in college access for two years in Providence, where she guided students through the college application process. Jeorgia believes that youth can thrive into adulthood when given the space, guidance, and tools to succeed. She hopes to continue guiding young people as she pursues two master’s degrees in library and information science and children’s literature at Simmons University. Outside of work and graduate school, Jeorgia likes to explore new restaurants, libraries, and bookstores around Boston. She also likes to read, write, play video games, draw, paint, and cuddle up with her dog Teddy.
