Position: Donor Relations Manager | Bay Area
Eli began his path into youth development as a high school educator, where he saw firsthand the power of mentorship and honoring many definitions of success. Summer Search’s values of equity, relationship, and possibility resonate deeply with him, and reflect his own belief that young people thrive when their dignity and strengths are centered. In his role as Donor Relations Manager, he is excited to partner with staff, board, and supporters to ensure sustainable support for participants for generations to come.
Eli has seven years of experience in development and leadership support roles in the nonprofit sector, spanning healthcare, outdoor programming for trans adults, and first-generation college and career support. In his most recent role as Development and Communications Lead at Students Rising Above, he focused on increasing donor engagement, creating infrastructure for ethical storytelling, and building interdepartmental collaboration. Eli brings these skills to Summer Search to deepen donor relationships and support a strong culture of philanthropy.
Outside of business hours, Eli enjoys hiking, camping and exploring outdoor areas near water. Having grown up in the Bay Area, he feels most at home along the coast and in the surrounding public parks. His favorite areas outside of his hometown include Mendocino, Stanislaus National Forest, and Snoqualmie in Washington State.
Fun Fact: Photo taken during my first time camping in the wood near Seattle, WA. Now it’s an annual tradition!
