  • Summer Search Philadelphia’s 2014 Leadership Dinner will take place on Thursday, April 3rd, 2014 at Vie, 600 N. Broad Street. Our Annual Leadership Dinner features inspiring stories from our students. More than 400 influential leaders and philanthropists from the Philadelphia community come together to increase awareness and support for Summer Search and our students.   • This hour-long WHYY (90.9) segment features our students and Executive Director, Amanda Jefferson. The interview, performed by Maiken Scott, WHYY’s Behavioral Health Reporter, highlights the importance of character-building and its correlation to the successes of our students.

  • Philly's newest Summer Summers successfully completed the 3-mile run and conquered the heights of an Outward Bound ropes course this past Saturday at Outward Bound Insight Day.
  • We are pleased to announce that the Summer Search class of 2013 have made their final college decisions and will be attending schools such as: University of Pennsylvania, Albright College, Bates College, Penn State, Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Colby-Sawyer College.
  • Thank you to everyone who attended the 2013 Philadelphia Second Annual Leadership Dinner – the evening was a major success! Because of you, we were able to raise over $270,000 to support our students in the Philadelphia School District.   • We are proud to announce that several Summer Search Philadelphia seniors have already been accepted to a wide variety of colleges and universities including: Penn State, Hofstra, La Salle, Shippensburg, Colby Sawyer, Albright, and McDaniel.
  • Amanda Jefferson speaks at the Wharton Social Impact Conference
    On Friday, February 3rd, Summer Search Philadelphia’s Executive Director, Amanda Jefferson, spoke at the Wharton Social Impact Conference. Her panel was entitled “Innovative Approaches to Education” where she talked about Summer Search’s impact on youth education in Philadelphia.

  • Summer Search Philadelphia Exceeded It's Fundraising Goal This Year!
    Thank you to all our supporters for your generous donations! Not only did we meet our fundraising goal, but we even exceeded it and raised $352,000 this year!
  • Summer Search Philadelphia is the Winner of the 2011 Human Values Award for Academics! The Human Values Awards honor leaders who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to improving the lives of others through their dedication and service to humanity.
  • Thank you to our Wharton In Action students who raised over $7,000 to support Summer Search students!
  • 23 Summer Searchers have started college for the first time! Our graduating senior class has begun college at schools including Temple University, Colby-Sawyer College and the University of Pennsylvania. All of these students will receive continued support during college through our Bridge program.
