Yesenia is excited to join Summer Search and is looking forward to working to reach students across the city with such a transformative program.

With over 15 years of experience in the non-profit sector, Yesenia has dedicated herself to building programs and organizations working towards greater access to holistic educational experiences for underrepresented students. As a second-generation immigrant to Colombian parents and a first-generation college graduate, she knows firsthand the impact of exploration and education on young people’s ability to dream and live up to their potential.

Before joining Summer Search, Yesenia served as a founding staff member and executive leader at Matriculate, a national virtual college advising organization serving high-achieving low and moderate-income students and their families. For eight years, she was central to building the foundation of the program and organization, which grew from serving 300 students to 7,000+ students annually. With expertise in program development, program evaluation, organizational development, and change management, she is uniquely positioned to help teams and organizations through change and growth with a people-centered mindset.
