David Bonn is an accomplished finance executive with close to 30 years of experience advising multi-national financial institutions. As a Managing Director and Senior Tax Counsel at Royal Bank of Canada for the last 16 years, David has demonstrated a strong track record structuring complex corporate transactions, leading strategic initiatives and implementing cost savings measures. His expertise spans organizational restructuring, efficient balance-sheet funding, business development and corporate risk management. He also advises on the impact of US legislative developments and advocates for US tax legislation and regulations that are clear, equitable and administrable. His attention to detail and ability to implement high-profile strategies in a demanding environment, coupled with his deep understanding of financial systems, the tax law and strategic planning, positions him as a valuable contributor to his organization’s success. David studied at Fordham Law and Penn State University and is a member of the New York State Bar.
Outside of work, David is an avid traveler, frequently accompanied by his two sons, ages 15 and 12. He stays active by running, biking, hiking and working out and has volunteered across a broad range of causes over the past 30 years. Most recently, David has been involved in a trio of charitable organizations that feed the hungry and food insecure across Long Island. He has also participated in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program, most recently with a high schooler from upper Manhattan, and was involved with New York Cares for over 20 years as a volunteer, team leader, member of the Speaker’s Bureau and champion.
