Michel-Lé Meranda
She | Her
Position: Post-Secondary Mentor
Before joining Summer Search, Michel-Lé taught science at Malden High School. She began her journey in youth development as an AmeriCorps member, an experience that continues to shape how she approaches service, mentorship, and community building. Over the past eight years, her work with young people has taken many forms, including teaching high school science, advising after-school student organizations, coaching track and field, and supporting students as they transition into and persist through post-secondary pathways.
Michel-Lé brings a strong sense of cultural humility to her work and believes that learning is a two-way street. She sees young people as active partners in their own journeys and values creating spaces where students feel seen, heard, and empowered. She is continually learning from the lived experiences, insights, and strengths that young people bring into the room.
Outside of work, Michel-Lé loves traveling and has visited 59 countries (and counting), with a particular passion for learning new languages and immersing herself in different cultures. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing musical instruments, doing puzzles, and making flower arrangements.
