Position: Development and Communications Coordinator
Melen Yemane is a mission-driven professional dedicated to advancing equity and expanding opportunities for young people. As an alumna of Summer Search, her commitment to youth development is deeply personal, shaped by firsthand experience with the transformative power of experiential learning, mentorship, and access to the outdoors.
Melen serves as Development and Communications Coordinator, where she leverages storytelling, data, and relationship-building to deepen community engagement and amplify impact. She brings experience in youth development, program design, and systems-level initiatives, with a focus on data-informed strategy and community-centered communication.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington and a Master of Public Administration from CUNY Baruch College. Outside of work, Melen enjoys running, playing tennis, and hiking.
