He | Him

Position: Philadelphia Board Member

Professional Title: Head of Learning and Development, ParetoHealth

Imtiaz (Im-Tee-Aaz) Alam brings a multidisciplinary background in risk management, education, technology, and healthcare to the Summer Search Philadelphia advisory board. He began his career in corporate risk at Marsh McLennan before pivoting to the classroom, where he became a founding teacher at Boys’ Latin of Philadelphia Charter School’s middle school. There, he taught 9th and 11th grade English, served as freshman grade level chair, and coached both freshman and JV basketball. During his time at Boys’ Latin, he led transformative student trips abroad to Iceland, Italy, and China—experiences that reinforced his belief in the life-changing power of exposure and opportunity.

After six years in the classroom, Imtiaz transitioned into tech, leading education programs at Guru and Shopify. He now works in healthcare at ParetoHealth, where he leads Learning and Development initiatives across the organization.

Imtiaz lives in Lancaster County with his wife, Kimberly, and their three-year-old son, Rafael. He’s also a cat dad to Rita, an 18-year-old black domestic shorthair who likes to slice. Outside of work, he is an espresso enthusiast and certified scuba diver.
