Angela Chen

She | Her

Position: Director of Development | Bay Area

Angela’s passion for youth development is rooted in her own story. As a Summer Search NYC alum who grew up in a low income immigrant household in Brooklyn, she experienced firsthand how mentorship, opportunity, and a supportive network can transform a young person’s life. A proud graduate of New York City public schools and the first in her family to earn a college degree, she is deeply committed to expanding access and economic mobility for first generation and underrepresented students.

Angela brings nearly a decade of experience in fundraising and nonprofit leadership. She has worked with several youth serving organizations, leading donor cultivation, corporate partnerships, volunteer engagement, and strategic events that strengthened program support for young people. She earned her Anthropology degree from the Colin Powell School for Civic and Global Leadership, holds an ESL teaching certification, and briefly taught English in South Korea.

Outside of work, Angela enjoys learning languages, solo traveling, Latin dancing, and playing mahjong. A lifelong New Yorker now building a home in the Bay Area, she’s excited to put down new roots.
