A Mosaic of Cultures and Dreams

Rachelle's path was fraught with challenges, from homelessness to health issues, yet she found triumphs through faith, resilience, and sports, learning that life doesn’t always play the expected tune.

Through Summer Search, she found a platform to express her identity and embrace her uniqueness.

The program not only provided her with educational and outdoor experiences but also helped her find her voice and become a confident, outspoken individual.

One of the most transformative experiences for Rachelle was her trip to Washington State with Summer Search. She recalls being the only person of color on that trip, a challenge that turned into an opportunity for immense personal growth. This experience ignited her love for nature and self-discovery, leading her to appreciate the quiet beauty of the natural world and its stark contrast to city life.
