Maverick Breton

Position: Program Associate | NYC

Pronouns: He|Him

Maverick is from Dover, New Jersey, and graduated from New York University with a BA in Psychology minoring in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Studies. He’s been able to work with students from grades 3-12 and has also been able to provide support in college settings as a former RA and Tutor. Additionally, Maverick has worked with individuals affected by the child welfare system here in New York as well as communities in the city affected by a systemic lack of resources. As a first-generation student, he recognizes the way access to resources can profoundly change the way someone can recognize their place in the world and ultimately works towards helping students challenge what is expected of them and find their passions and desires that lead to happiness beyond the classroom and workplace.

Outside of work, Maverick usually splits time between friends and himself. Whether it’s a shared hot pot dinner or solo ramen experience or going to concerts for bands he’s heard of in the further corners of the Internet, Maverick has come to appreciate both the liveliness and solitude that New York can provide. He’s also up to date when it comes to video games and anime and is always open to giving his thoughts on each.
