Community: Bay Area Staff
Position: Senior Post-Secondary Program Manager | Bay Area
Gee Salas's journey in youth development began as a student in a college access organization from 7th through 12th grade, where she experienced firsthand the transformative power of mentorship and opportunity. As a first-generation college student, Gee went on to earn a B.A. in Sociology from UC Santa Cruz. While attending UCSC, she volunteered for Student Initiated Outreach (SIO) Weekend through A Step Forward and the Filipino Student Association, experiences that sparked a passion for helping young people discover and pursue their paths after high school. Gee later earned her M.A. in School Counseling from New York University.
Throughout her career, Gee has worked in college access and student success organizations from the West Coast to the East Coast, including UC Berkeley DCAC/EAOP, iMentor Bay Area, and Student Leadership Network. She has supported countless first-generation students and families in achieving their next steps after high school, whether through college, career pathways, or other post-secondary opportunities. In 2022, Gee returned home to the Bay Area, where she now serves as Senior Post-Secondary Program Manager. In her role, she supports mentors as they guide high school seniors and Post-Secondary Year 1 students through the transition from high school to college, career, and beyond.
Outside of work, Gee is a dog mama who enjoys capturing everyday moments with her digital camera. She is also a devoted basketball fan and can often be found cheering on the Golden State Warriors and the Golden State Valkyries.
