Welcome to another edition of #Snapshot, where we bring you a little slice of what’s going on at Summer Search.
It’s college decision time!
New York City’s wall of college acceptance letters
Yesterday, May 1, was National College Decision Day, the official deadline for high school seniors to make their final college decisions by submitting their SIR (Statement of Intent to Register). #DecisionDay
Not to be confused with College Signing Day with the First Lady, which was last week.
This is the culmination of each senior Summer Searcher’s long journey to college — researching schools, writing personal statements, sending in applications, navigating the maze of financial aid, receiving acceptance letters and finally, choosing the best fit with their families and mentors.
So, here’s a quick look at just a few of the Summer Searchers who’ve made their final decisions, and where they’ll be attending in the fall!
Billy, joined by his Bay Area college advisor Krystina, after committing to UC Davis!
North Bay Summer Searchers Bryan (above, in between his father and college advisor Melissa) and Daniella are both heading to UC Santa Cruz! Daniella writes on the North Bay’s “Celebration Wall” about how proud she is to now be a UCSC Banana Slug.
Seattle’s Ebneazer saying “I accept” to the University of Washington!
Ma’Khayla makes her final decision to attend Lawrence University, while flanked by her mom, her Bay Area mentor Colleen and college advisor Joni.
Join us in celebrating and congratulating this next wave of Summer Searchers as they take this huge step on their journeys to become college-educated leaders! #ReachHigher
