MENTORSHIP MATTERS

Nationwide, approximately 16 million youth will reach age 19 without ever having a mentor. We're here to change that statistic by way of one of the longest, most thorough, (and definitely) most caring mentorship programs in the country.

Our IN-Depth Mentorship Philosophy

Summer Search’s comprehensive mentorship program is designed to support students from their sophomore year in high school into adulthood. We help with academics, social skills, career development, and financial well-being. Our mentors are trained to help students reflect on their lives in such a way that their purpose becomes more clear.

Professionally Trained

We don't have volunteer mentors. Every mentor in our program is a paid, fully-trained staff member.

lONG LASTING RELATIONSHIPS

Our program is a 7-9+ year commitment. We're passionate about supporting our students and our longevity reflects that.

thERE WHEN YOU NEED US

Students don't just need support in school. They need emotional, financial, career, and personal guidance. We're here for them.

sOCIAL/eMOTIONAL SKILLS

We're prepared to support many students who take on extra obligations for their family which can create stress and anxiety.

Conflict Transformational Skills

High school is a prickly time. Our mentors are trained in conflict transformation and can help mediate any problems that arise.

Culturally responsive

Our mentors help students reflect on their past and help them become deeply proud of their identities.

Trauma Sensitivity

Trauma is something many students struggle with. Thankfully, our mentors are trained and ready to help positively cope.

1:1 Focus

Young people need to know they are not alone – they need one on one, caring relationships with adults they can rely on.

Finding Your Purpose & Goal Setting

We take an individualized approach to mentorship to ensure we support our students unique goals and aspirations.

  • Individual, local, regional and national training
  • Ample opportunities to connect with the students and communities we serve
  • A commitment to developing leaders from within the organization
  • An organizational culture that supports staff well-being and holistic self-care/community care
