MARIANNE HARRISON
PRESIDENT & CEO
JOHN HANCOCK
Marianne Harrison is President and Chief Executive Officer of John Hancock, the U.S. division of Toronto-based Manulife Financial Corporation. She also is a member of Manulife’s Executive Leadership Team.
Ms. Harrison, who is based in Boston, has responsibility across all aspects of John Hancock’s operations. One of the largest life insurers and fastest growing asset managers in the United States, John Hancock supports approximately 10 million Americans with a broad range of financial products, including life insurance, annuities, investments, 401(k) plans, and college savings plans. As of March September 30, 2019, John Hancock’s assets under management and administration were $478.8 billion.
Before taking on her current role in 2017, Ms. Harrison served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Manulife Canada, Manulife’s Canadian Division. Prior to assuming this role in 2013, she held several leadership positions across the company, including President and General Manager for John Hancock Long-Term Care Insurance, and Executive Vice President and Controller for Manulife. Before joining Manulife, Marianne had been Chief Financial Officer of Wealth Management at TD Bank Group after holding various positions there; before that she worked for PwC.
Ms. Harrison serves as President and Chairman of the boards for John Hancock’s insurance companies, including John Hancock Life Insurance Company (U.S.A.) and John Hancock Life Insurance Company of New York.
Ms. Harrison graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a B.A. in English and earned a Diploma in Accounting from Wilfrid Laurier University. She is a Chartered Accountant and in 2016 was elected a Fellow of the Profession, the highest designation for professional achievement conferred by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario.

Angela Jackson, Ph.D is the Chief Ecosystem and Investment Officer at Kapor Center. Dr. Angela Jackson is an impact investing and Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) expert. As a leader in the future of work space, she has deep knowledge of technological trends that are transforming organizations and human capital infrastructure necessary for corporations to maintain competitiveness.
Dr. Jackson has ben a senior advisor to over 100 workforce EdTech startup organizations. She has used her deep domain expertise to transform portfolio company's talent and sales functions in order to drive growth, scale and liquidity events. She works with executive teams to connect social impact outcomes to broader business goals, proving that business is a critical platform for change. Previously Dr. Jackson was a Managing Partner at New Profit where she launched the Future of Work Grand Challenge initiative that resulted in the developemnt of an ecosystem of over 60 Employers, Foundations and Education operating partners that reskilled and placed workers impacted by COVID in living wage jobs.
Dr. Jackson serves as a board member and advisor to several private and nonprofit boards, including Summer Search. Dr. Jackson is passionate about modernizing the public education to career system and advancing academic and professional opportunities for women, people of color and veterans.
Dr. Jackson holds a doctoral degree from Harvard University where her research focused on using capital as a lever in service of systems change. She also holds business, marketing and journalism degrees and certifications from University of Missouri-Columbia and INSEAD Business School.
