Junior Year
At your Junior Year Reflection Meeting, you will be given the Junior Handbook, which covers your next steps in Summer Search in more depth. But just so you know what to expect, here’s an overview:
- WEEKLY CALLS WITH YOUR MENTOR
Your calls with your mentor will continue all the way through high school. - PREPARATION FOR YOUR SECOND SUMMER TRIP
After your Junior Year Reflection Meeting, you will begin preparing—mentally, physically, and practically—for your second Summer Program, just like last year. - COLLEGE/POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION COUNSELING
You will start meeting with our college counselors to discuss your college and post-secondary education plans. Our meetings will cover what you need to do in your junior and senior years to make your plans possible. We will work with you to develop a checklist of things you must do to be ready for graduation and the exciting next chapter in your life. - SPRING EVENT
- SECOND SUMMER PROGRAM
Your second Summer Program will help you develop your leadership in those areas where you still have room to grow. For some students, this means an international community service or home-stay program, where you are immersed in a whole new culture and way of life. Other students have the chance to pursue their academic interests or develop their talents (like art, drama, writing, or music) through specialized experiences at college or boarding school campuses.

- COLLEGE/POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION COUNSELING
In your senior year, you will spend a lot of time meeting with our college counselors. We will guide you through:- The entire college application process
- Preparation for the standardized tests (PSAT, SAT, etc.)
- The financial aid process, from filling out the right forms, to which scholarships you should apply for, to how to negotiate the best financial aid package. Last year, we helped our senior class secure more than $3 million dollars in college scholarships!
- Perhaps most importantly, we also take the time to prepare you for the excitement and challenges—both social and academic—of campus life. We make sure you have the tools to graduate successfully with a college degree.
