third Annual Pre-Trip Hike

For the past few months, Summer Search sophomores have been preparing physically, emotionally and mentally for the rigors and excitement of their upcoming Summer programs. Eager students embraced this hike as another opportunity for them test the limits of their physical endurance, practice their social skills and break-in their new hiking boots.

Sy Kaufman, Summer Search supporter, armed with years of hiking experience and knowledge, led students, staff and supporters on a seven-mile round trip trek along the Pacific Coastal Trail through the breathtaking Tennessee Valley. Participants enjoyed sunshine, scenic views and lunch on Muir Beach, provided by Sy. Students and supporters connected during the day-long adventure, building bonds and exchanging stories that they’ll carry with them into the future. To get involved with events like this, click here.
